Financial Process Optimization

The Problem

An e-commerce retailer needed to reduce its overall payment costs and streamline its processes.

The Project

A number of parallel efforts were undertaken over a period of 2 years to bring about this goal.  The lenght of time was dictated by the retailer's technical bandwidth to implement the required changes.  These changes included:

• Re-engineering the process flow for authorization requests
• Re-engineering the chargeback process
• Re-engineering the credit and referral processes

The Result

Annual hard savings of approximately $8Million USD in processing costs per year were achieved.  Additional savings obtained due to reduced customer inquiries and personnel required to operate the above processes
